Information Import, Export or Transhipment
At least two (2) days before arrival of a vessel, the agent or stevedore is to supply a copy of the Dangerous Goods Declaration for every consignment which carries IMDG classification.

For non terminal operations the Vessel Operator is to supply a copy of the relevant documents to the Port Control Office and Cargo Services. Email Port Control and Cargo services using this link:
Port of Tauranga Limited requires at least a two digit Dangerous Goods Definition (eg 2.1) on all declarations. If only a single digit is provided the consignment will be treated as the most hazardous of that Class.
This applies to ALL types of cargo whether FCL or LCL or Breakbulk or Bulk Liquid, and must include container numbers. The information is to be provided to the relevant Shift Supervisor or stevedore as may be applicable.
Please ensure that the container number, export vessel name and voyage number are entered on the Dangerous Goods Declaration.
Information – Export Cargo
Containers presented for export need to be accompanied by complete, legible hazardous certificates. These documents need to be collected and processed so that they are available for quick retrieval in the advent of spillage or other emergency event.
Container Terminal Operational Requirements
Shift Supervisors or stevedores receiving Hazardous Goods information as specified above are to ensure consignees or their stevedore agent, for breakbulk consignments classified “DMV” or “L & R” are notified accordingly.
