The Port Users’ Health, Safety and Environment Forum is committed to working together to improve health and safety, and holds regular monthly meetings which are focused on improvements in health and safety and environmental practices.
The forum uses a systems approach to reduce the risks associated with the various operations in and around the port. Focus areas include the loading and unloading of vessels, traffic management, and the development of “Safety protocols of common user areas for Tauranga Container Terminal and the Mount Maunganui wharves”, to which every operator subscribes.
