The maximum quantities and classifications of Class 1 Dangerous Goods which may at any time transit the Port of Tauranga Limited are subject to an agreement between Environment BOP and the Chief Inspector of Explosives.
(a) Less than 27 kgs NEQ (Net Explosive Quantity) – may remain on vessel , or be landed and stored at a defined “safe remote location” within the Port area.
(b) Class 1.4S and 1.4G (Lower risk explosive goods) may be landed and stored at a defined “safe remote location” within the Port area. Tauranga Terminal Safe area defined as Row 30, C Block.
(c) Beyond the limits of (a) and (b) above, Transit Cargo of Class 1 Dangerous Goods is to be removed from the vessel while in port and taken to the licensed Class 1 goods store situated in Hanga Hanga Road, Kaimai. The handling of these transfers will be at the direction and under the controls specified in the relative ERMA permit to Transit
